Sorry. Sorry sorry sorry sorry. Sorry. We are absolutely rubbish.
First things first – we are both alive and (very) well. We’re now six weeks into our trip and it’s safe to say that booking our flight to Guatemala City was the best thing either of us has ever done.
So much has happened in the last six weeks. We’ve met so many amazing people, visited insane places and eaten more baleadas than I thought humanly possible (more about the baleadas later – they probably deserve their own blog post.)
“BUT WHERE ARE YOU RIGHT NOW EMILY AND DANNY?!” I hear you ask.
We are currently on Utila, which is an island in the Caribbean sea, off the coast of Honduras. We’ve been here for the last three weeks and (wait for it……..) we’re going to be here for another two months. Why? Because we have fallen in love with Scuba Diving and we’ve decided to do our Divemaster course, which is a professional qualification that allows you to work as a dive guide anywhere in the world. But i’ll dedicate a post to the Divemaster course later (I promise).
Mostly we’ve been diving, eating, drinking and studying. Today we found an apartment, and tomorrow we’ll be moving in. We are ridiculously excited – there’s only so many nights so you can spend in a hot room without a fan…
Over the next week I’ll post about the incredible places we visited in Guatemala. It is, without a doubt, the most diverse, vibrant and exciting country I have ever visited. We have some amazing stories and photos to share with you.
For now I’ll leave you with some photos from Utila so far. It’s tough living in paradise but I guess someone has to do it…
